Stainless Steel Ring vs White Gold Ring vs Sterling Silver?
I'm looking for a Celtic wedding band for my fiance. He's not picky at all, and said he'd like whatever I pick out. He doesn't want to spend much money on it, since he doesn't really care either way.
Initially, I was thinking about getting a sterling silver ring, but I wondered how well it would hold up. I have a sterling silver promise ring that I wore for 7 years... it's a little beat up. I thought that white gold might wear a little better, but it's pretty expensive. (Especially since it's celtic... that seems to up the price quite a bit!)
Do you think stainless steel would be a good option for us? Does it hold up well? Anyone have any major problems with it? Can a casual observer make the distinction between that and some of the finer materials? Thanks!
